Mining Engineers

Our mining engineers are responsible for a wide range of mine planning and development activities including economic evaluation, productivity analysis, pit and spoil design, short and long term mine planning, capital forecasts, equipment selection, geological interpretation, geotechnical design, and drill and blast engineering.

The successful incumbents will have:

  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required as well as strong computer skills in mining related software
  • A Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree in mining or a related discipline (mineral processing, civil)
  • Five to eight years of related experience is preferred, although recent graduates with relevant co-op or intern experience will be considered

  • Familiarity with mineplanning software (Minesight, XPAC, TALPAC) is an asset

  • Successful applicants will be encouraged to pursue their P. Eng. Qualification

  • Open pit and coal mining experience are also considered assets.
