Energy Data Analyst (Accounting Clerk)

We are currently seeking to fill an administrative level position to help support Prism's Energy Management Team with energy use data collection, organization, and reporting.

The Energy Data Analyst provides engineering support to address energy and water utility conservation programs, as well as GHG tracking.

Your assets include strong organization skills, attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.

Responsibilities and Work Activities include:

  • Interact and coordinate with clients to collect and compile facilities energy usage, cost, and facility information into the Prism database. This will include discussions with Prism staff with knowledge of the clients portfolio, contacting clients, discussions with utilities, and site visits.
  • Gain authorizations from clients to access utility accounts and requesting data from utilities.
  • Work with the utility to set up a systematic and organized method of obtaining data in electronic format.
  • Enter utility data into a customized database. Working with database developer to optimize current processes, error checking entries for anomalies and following up/correcting issues.
  • Application of standardized analysis techniques to energy data to determine relationships to weather, operations or processes.
  • Provide comments based on data analysis.
  • Investigate complex utility bills and metering anomalies for electricity, natural gas, and chilled water and hot water distribution systems.
  • Generate detailed, complex monthly, quarterly, and annual energy reports.
  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and tasks for groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.
  • Provide energy projects support as required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze energy and utility systems data
  • Ability to write, review, and present briefings and papers
  • Knowledge and experience with data collection systems
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with staff, clients, and utility providers in a professional manner
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Outlook
  • Ability to work independently
