Position Summary

We currently are looking for Housekeepers at one of our operations (a large healthcare facility) in Hamilton.

As Housekeeper you will be responsible for:

• Cleaning and maintaining areas such as floors, stairways, and carpets by performing tasks such as sweeping, vacuuming, shampooing, dry/wet mopping, auto scrubbing, and floor refinishing which includes stripping, sealing, floor finish application and polishing
• Cleaning and maintaining items such as patient contact items, beds, over bed tables, etc.
• Follow required cleaning procedures for terminal and isolation cleaning and hazardous spills
• Reporting any noticeable maintenance problems or safety hazards to Housekeeping Supervisor
• Cleaning and disinfecting areas
• Distributing clean linen according to quota to designated areas of facility.

This is a Part-time, casual position in various shifts (day, evening or night) Monday through Sunday.

Skills and Requirements
 

• Experience operating housekeeping related equipment;
• Physical ability to perform duties of the position;
• Schedule flexibility
• Understanding and comprehension of all policies and procedures as they relate to the work being performed;
• Knowledge of Health & safety policies & procedures as they relate to housekeeping practices;
• Ability to follow instructions;
• Ability to maintain good working relationship with peers;
• Good communication skills (verbal and in writing).
