Purpose of Position:
The Senior Associate (IA) is licensed as a Registered Representative. Their
primary purpose is to work closely with an advisor in the management of the Advisor’s book of business by providing effective client service, and execution of business development and/or sales related activities. The SA’s primary role is a service role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales
1. Generate sales or revenue building ideas through utilizing an in-depth
knowledge of products and services to gain maximum value from existing clients.
2. Identify opportunities to gather additional assets and/or increase revenue within the existing client base and present to the Advisor (i.e. referrals, consolidation of assets, insurance, etc…)
3. Responsible for ensuring the suitability of client recommendations, and also ensure that they are in line with the clients’ financial goals, objectives and risk levels. Have a good understanding of client profiles and the Advisor’s investment strategy being used to implement client objectives.
4. Manage the execution of New Issue recommendations on behalf of the Advisor
5. Manage the execution of transactions on behalf of the Advisor
Customer Service
6. Ensure a high level of client service by preparing, analyzing, and presenting to the advisor for review . (i.e. gain/loss reports and recommendations,
financial plans/concepts, insurance, etc)
7. Must adhere to all firm and regulatory policies by remaining up to date with all the regulatory rules and trading activities as it relates to a client’s
account and ensuring that any client interaction is accurately documented.
8. Provide recommendations for improvement to business processes, additional value to clients, utilization of our Team of Experts, etc).
Business Development
9. Coordination and execution of business development activities as delegated by the Advisor (i.e. seminars, newsletters, etc.).
10. Assist advisor in development, preparation and presentation of annual
business plan.
Administration
11. Completion of administrative duties where required by team structure.
12. Regularly reviewing processes to ensure administrative processes are
streamlined.
SKill Musts:
1. Completed CSC, CPH and 90 day training.
2. Completed the Senior Associate (RR Only Licensing) Training Program and be granted regulatory approval to be licensed as a Registered Representative.
3. Complete PFP* within 18 months of being licensed as a Registered
Representative (Condition of Employment)
4. Complete all relevant licensing as required by the Advisor’s business (i.e. Insurance, options, etc).
5. In-depth knowledge of the fundamentals/techniques of equity, fixed income, options and mutual funds.
6. In-depth knowledge of trading and applicable industry rules and regulations.
7. In-depth knowledge of the marketplace including current conditions &
trends in the stock and bond markets.
Securities Industry Education Requirements subject to change
Preferred:
1. 2 yrs Industry Experience
2. Strong communication skills
