Department Overview:
Business Performance Management is a key support in helping running ITS like a business. Amongst the group's responsibilities are activities such as financial analysis and reporting, service costing, process management and business governance.Within the financial analysis and reporting activities, it has been identified there is a need for an individual to help support ITS Executives and Management. The explicit goal of this activity is to drive improvement in resource demand management planning, resource availability, to increase staff efficiency and productivity through day-to-day tools, templates and reporting.
Job Description:
Demand & Resource Management Strategy
Assisting the Manager, ITS Management Reporting and the VP, Business Management & Governance to develop a demand and resource management strategy as well as a plan to implement demand and resource management planning within ITS
Moving forward on both the short-term (F09) tactical actions and shaping the longer-term (F10, F11, F12) strategy
Helping develop a scalable toolset, including processes that will incorporate both Canadian and USA ITS resources to achieve information and that will assist in managing the supply and demand of ITS resources
Analyze, report and work closely with management to ensure the optimal resourcing mix and utilization, along with continuous improvement to drive greater value to the organization
Identifying risks and providing recommendations for mitigationReporting
Preparation of timely, accurate resource management reports, including an Executive Dashboard, Manager level detailed reports, and strategic view for ISET
Further development and improvement of current reporting standards
Build upon solid relationships and work closely with RM (Resource Managers) to develop and improve tools, templates and tracking mechanisms for the business experience
Involved, with key managers, in project estimation tool completion, to better understand the expected resource demands coming out of the project pipeline
Value add through in-depth analysis and scenario buildingRelationship Management
Serve as a key integration point of contact for ITS, providing informative reports that drive effective decision-making, and providing subject matter expertise.
Work closely with internal partners (HR, Recruiters, Finance, both Canada and US) on demand and resource management planningJob Requirements:
Education/Accreditations:
Business Degree, and /or work experience relevant to the role
Have 5 or more years in an IT environment
Workforce planning, workforce management, and/or reporting experience.
Awareness of project management and the associated methodologies, techniques, processes and approachesOther Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Passionate about improving business performance and adding value through improved resource management
Proven reporting experience in either finance, IT or other key functional areas
Experience working with IT and project leaders around the planning and portfolio management approach
Work with other RM’s (Resource Managers) and business performance team members to prioritize reporting and planning requirements
Strong alliance/partnership and relationship management skills
Proven experience in developing and executing on a (new initiative) strategy
Proven planning, analytical and evaluative skills in order to manage priorities within a performance management and measurement environment
Advanced communication skills, both written and oral, to ensure plans and report presentations are clearly communicated, understood and effectively applied
Comfortable in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, ability to represent the organization at a senior levelGeneral
Collaborative, with proven project management and interpersonal skills
Strong operational and planning, analytical and critical thinking, meeting management skills
Knowledge of the ITS and portfolio management function in financial services
