Youth Mentor
We need volunteers - especially guys - to provide some positive influence to our youth. Volunteers will work within a community of their choice to support newcomer and "at risk" youth aged 6 – 15.
Volunteers will plan fun-filled activities of an academic/recreational nature on a weekly basis. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to attend monthly group events that YAY hosts (i.e. Toronto Maple Leaf games, Toronto Raptor games, Toronto Blue Jays games, and much, much, more!)
Through this program, YAY has been able to work with over 13,000 youth since 1976 and has kept 98% of our youth in school and out of trouble. With your help, we will continue to develop the leadership skills of youth, and address the many challenges that face them and their communities.
If you are looking to have fun, meet new people, build your resume, and make a difference in your community, then this is the volunteer position for you. If you speak a second language - please apply today. Help us put the “You” in Youth Assisting Youth - become a mentor.
The next information session will be held on Saturday November 29 2008. Please email Chukwuma "Chuck" Okonkwo to apply/reserve your seat at cokonkwo@yay.org or at (416) 932 - 1919 ext. 258
