Community Engagement & Partnership Coordinator
NORTH YORK COMMUNITY HOUSEExternal Job Posting Salary range: $42,669 - $46,169 depending on qualificationsHours per week: Full-time (35 hours per week)General function: To open doors and build bridges between newcomer/ immigrant groups and public institutions and private sector businesses in their municipality, with the goal of building a welcoming, inclusive and well-integrated community. Responsibilities include the following:1. Facilitate the involvement, collaboration and co-education of community stakeholders;2. Outreach and consultation with potential Host client and volunteer groups, including newer and more established ethno-racial and ethno-cultural groups;3. Explore ways to involve “established” immigrant communities with newcomers; 4. Outreach to service providers, businesses, public agencies and institutions to explore best practices and innovative ways in which they can engage newcomers and immigrants in their organizations; 5. Organize educational tours, workshops, community meetings for the Host Program; 6. Animate partnership-building sessions, and otherwise encourage the development of partnerships that may benefit or enhance the Host Program; 7. Provide advice, referrals and direct support to public and private institutions in the delivery of diversity and anti-racism training; 8. Map community assets, resources and newcomer needs, with the aim of matching needs with resources, and addressing identified gaps; 9. Promote greater interest and involvement in volunteerism in the Host Program in all groups within the city; 10. Ensure that program goals and objectives are understood by staff, and are integrated into program plans and activities.11. Assist in the design and implementation of program evaluation tools;12. Monitor program budget and manage expenses;13. Maintain program files, statistical and evaluation data14. Attend Host and NYCH meetings as required. Qualifications:1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in coordinator position in a social services organization, or equivalent position in the public relations/marketing field.2. Post-secondary degree or equivalent.3. Excellent understanding of issues affecting newcomer families and demonstrated skills and experience in working in diverse, anti-oppression environment. 4. Excellent administrative skills, including monitoring program budgets and report writing.5. Proven track record in community outreach/capacity building, partnership building, work with non-profit agencies, newcomer groups, businesses and public services; 6. Flexible, team-oriented working style;7. Experienced in development and facilitation of anti-racism approaches and cross-cultural awareness;8. Strong commitment to organizational learning and social change;9. Experience developing press releases and working with a variety of media;10. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Additional languages an asset.
