Responsibilities

Provides appropriate project management support to ensure the timely execution of the Certificate and Course Series development and review processes, and obtaining approvals associated with Chang School Council, in accordance with Senate Policy No. 76.  Provides the necessary templates and guidance for Academic Coordinators and staff involved in reviews and certificate program development.  Coordinates Certificate reviews and Certificate and Course Series proposals for Chang School business activities, at the direction of the Vice Chair.  Designs, develops and maintains a database system for the efficient and effective recording and archiving of documentation, reports and templates related to the Certificate and Course Series review process.

 

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a certificate program at the college level or higher in Advanced Access Database management is required as well as additional formal training in project management. A minimum of five years relevant experience in academic administration and/or project coordination in a post-secondary setting, preferably adult education. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills are required to plan for all activities related to Certificate and Course Series Reviews.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to provide follow-up support to the Vice Chair (and program Directors and Associate Program Directors) on the implementation of changes resulting from certificate and course series approval and review.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client service, specifically students, faculty, staff and external contacts.
  • Proven database skills (using ACCESS) are required to design, develop and maintain a system to record and archive documents, reports, templates and other data related to the Certificate Review Process.
  • Strong analytical skills to be able to assess progress of simultaneous projects, identify potential issues and recommend appropriate action plans to address issues.
  • Excellent time management skills and flexibility are required to effectively prioritize and ensure completion of assigned work, to change priorities as the need arises, and to work overtime as required by the demands of the position.
  • Ability to work independently and also as an effective team member.
