POSITION: INTERMEDIATE ACCOUNTANT BASIC FUNCTION: Provide Accounting Functions and Accounting Support to Finance Department.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Ø      Prepare monthly bank reconciliationsØ      Prepare monthly rainbow GL reconciliations Ø      Prepare monthly Endowment GL reconciliationsØ      Prepare monthly GL Account Reconciliations Journal VouchersØ      Verification of cheques that are greater than $5,000Ø      Oversee invoicing and collection of organization’s sundry receivablesØ      Monitor and audit monthly pension plan reports Ø      Monitor and review flow through designations Ø      Provide analysis of investments and support for Investment CommitteeØ      Prepare year-end audit schedulesØ      Perform inventory verification of campaign envelopesØ      Identify/recommend/implement process efficiencies in the Finance departmentØ      Assist with @work report design and process efficienciesØ     Monitor barter dollar utilizationØ     Special Projects/Analysis as requiredQUALIFICATIONS:Ø      Completion of postsecondary education in accounting or businessØ      CGA Level 3 or higherØ      A minimum of 2 to 3 years Accounting work experience or equivalentØ      Exposure to Not-for Profit Organizations preferredØ      Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel Ø      Knowledge of automated accounting systems, preferably ACCPACØ      Proficient with Word and Power Point – experience with Access is an assetØ      Proven organizational skillsØ      Demonstrated strong analytical skillsØ      Ability to work independentlyØ      Ability to assess priorities and meet deadlinesØ      Detail oriented Ø      Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skillsØ      Discrete knowledge of confidential information Interested candidates please submit resumes no later than August 26th, 2008 to: Attention:HR ManagerUnited Way Toronto26 Wellington Street East, 2nd FloorToronto, ON M5E 1W9 or Fax: 416 777 0962Email:  FA4623@uwgt.org We thank all applicants for their interest.
