Action for Neighbourhood Change (ANC), Eglinton East/Kennedy Park One (1) Contract Position – 26 hrs/week Contract ending June 06, 2009 West Hill Community Services (WHCS) is a multi-cultural service delivery agency providing primary health care, community and social support for individuals, families, youth, adults and seniors. Scope: In the Stronger Neighbourhoods Task Force, 13 neighbourhoods across Toronto were identified as needing special investment from funders, not only for needed services, but for community development. We are currently seeking an individual who is highly motivated and enthusiastic to a part of an exciting opportunity as an Administrative Assistant with the Eglinton East/Kennedy Park Action for Neighbourhood Change (ANC) initiative. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and will reflect a non-judgmental approach while being sensitive to the diverse communities we serve. The Administrative Assistant will support the ANC team in assisting the community to find its own voice that can be the catalyst for action. For additional services offered by West Hill please refer to our website @ www.westhill-cs.on.ca Accountability: The Administrative Assistant will be accountable to the ANC Manager. Primary responsibilities include but not limited to the following; Specific Responsibilities: • Provide administrative support to the ANC team; • Design and create flyers, posters & brochures for ANC programs & awareness; • Answer telephone and walk-in inquiries in a professional and knowledgeable manner and make referrals as necessary; • Assist to engage and support community members to identify needs and current barriers to programs and services; • Gather and compile data from residents & clients for use in program planning and development; • Assist to motivate and create awareness for residents to fully participate in ANC activities and provided programs and services; • Assist with event organization for programs and community events; • Maintain current information and material resources for community residents; • Other duties as assigned.
