Maintenance Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and schedule a 2 shift maintenance operation consisting of skilled tradesmen
- Responsible for the afternoon shift and rotating on-call weekend coverage
- Work together with the plant manufacturing departments and other support functions in achieving quality standards and meeting maintenance schedule deadlines
- Implement environmental and safety programs for the department and ensure compliance with safety rules, regulations and legislation
- Provide the technical leadership to the maintenance staff and contractors in the diagnostics, troubleshooting, corrective action and testing of repaired machinery
- Procure and monitor expenditures for parts and services to support the maintenance and repair of production equipment
- Maintain and monitor shop budget expenditures and productive labour hours booked and identify corrective actions
- Provide leadership and coaching to foster staff participation, create a proactive and responsive team environment
Qualifications
- Incumbent typically possesses a Mechanic or Electrician License preferred, or a Technical Diploma / Degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with experience in machine commissioning, maintenance and/or modifications
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings is an asset
- Computer literacy required (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of CMMS is an asset
- Ability to provide technical leadership with troubleshooting and problem solving
- Ability to plan activities, prioritize and manage resources for multiple concurrent projects
- Ability to make decisions, show risk awareness, evaluate options and solutions and exercise judgment in making sound decisions
