In this role you will be responsible for:

• creating and editing closed captions according to current captioning style guide while observing administrative requirements, air dates and deadlines.

• shift may be daytime or afternoon; editors are required to be available for either.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate would have:

• able to transcribe and create a cc file for 75-minutes of scheduled programming per day

• able to spell and punctuate properly in English

• a post secondary diploma or degree or the equivalent work experience

• able to touchtype at a minimum speed of 70 wpm

• experience in editing to style guide requirements

• requires a motivated, confident individual with good judgment who has the ability to problem solve and be part of a team and work with minimal supervision

• previous experience in a broadcast environment and knowledge of timecode and broadcast standards
