McCain Foods (Canada) has an opening for a Quality Control Manager in Portage la Prairie, MB. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for organizing and directing the total quality function at the Portage la Prairie facility, by ensuring the production of consistent premium quality frozen products in accordance with McCain Quality Systems.
Major responsibilities:
•Develop, implement, maintain and improve Quality Systems at the Plant as well as fulfill corporate mandate as directed by the Vice President of Quality Assurance.
•Responsible for the maintenance of Good Manufacturing Practice(GMP) standards.
•Responsible for accurate and efficient microbiological and chemical testing within McCain standards.
•Oversee and manage the Q.C. Department resources, both budgetary and staff.
•Responsible for development of staff in the areas of Health and Safety, Performance Development, Training and Education Programs, and Succession Planning, etc.
•Responsible for the Audit process involving both products and internal systems. Site leader for the AIB Gold Standard Certification process.
•Responsible for the Factory HACCP System.
•Maintain Consumer Complaint Investigations Program, ensuring timely reporting of analysis.
•Develop and manage the Factory Sensory Program.
Qualifications:
•University Degree in Food Sciences or equivalent education.
•Strong leadership skills - a minimum of four years’ Supervisory/Manager experience in a food manufacturing environment (potato knowledge would be an asset) with strong experience in the practical application of processes. Experience with HACCP Programs/monitoring of same.
•Computer literate with experience in a Quality Control computerized environment.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong problem solving, decision-making and analytical skills.
