MEC stores are more than bricks and mortar. And they're more than places to buy hats and backpacks. They're hubs for the outdoor community. People step through our doors to connect, learn, find gear and get inspired.

As Frontline Staff, you’ll provide exceptional member service. You’ll share your expertise and advice to match people with gear that suits their needs. You’ll make everyone feel welcome – members or soon-to-be members – and you’ll be the face of MEC in store.

You’ll work with an inclusive, hands-on, collaborative group that connects people with quality products to encourage active outdoor lives. You’ll also receive great benefits such as staff discount, pro deals from vendors, access to great gear, product training and bonuses linked to our success.  You’ll always be learning, and there’s a good chance your co-workers will inspire you to try something new, like riding in a Fondo, bouldering or paddleboarding.

What you do:

Help members get the gear and advice they need to be active outside.
Answer members’ questions, and find out the answers to questions you don’t know.
Attend product knowledge sessions to stay up-to-date on gear.
Keep the store organized and looking good.
Let members know about MEC events, workshops and services.
Work at MEC races and events, when needed.
    Merchandising and cleaning the store

What you bring:

A good natured, welcoming vibe. You’re outgoing and genuinely like helping people.
Great communication skills – you listen first, then share knowledge.
You’re stoked on something: you love to log miles, climb mountains, practice yoga, cycle commute or do something outside every day.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts from Monday to Sunday.

Bonus points if you…

Have years of retail or customer service experience
Are the one your friends ask for gear advice
Have experience as an activity instructor or guide
Kind of like the smell of campfire in your hair

Note:  Please indicate your preference when filling out the online application form and writing your cover letter
