The Community Living Service Delivery Branch is seeking a highly motivated, task orientated, creative and flexible individual to fill the position of Crisis Support Therapist.
As part of the Specialized Programs Unit in Prince Albert, you will assist in the development and delivery of crisis support residential, outreach & education/prevention programs. You will provide an array of clinical/behavioural intervention and consultative functions. The clinical services include the development and delivery of therapeutic interventions for and with clients in crisis using behavioural, cognitive, and/or environmental/ecological approaches. You will assist in providing consultative services to other staff, ministries and community organizations in order to develop proactive crisis support services for individuals with challenging/harmful behaviours. You will be responsible in providing supervision such as assigning work, monitoring duties and providing feedback on an as needed basis. This position may be exposed to the risk of violent situations.
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through a Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Clinical Social Work or Education Psychology. Post-academic supervised practice in the delivery of behavioural/clinical services as well as working in a therapeutic capacity with people with disabilities would be considered a definite asset. A valid driver's license is required as travel may be necessary.
