Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate Counsel will represent the Company on the acquisition, development and leasing of real estate, will support and advise the Company on legal and business strategies and risks associated with the real estate, and will work to resolve issues arising from Real Estate and Property Management.

Qualifications:

* Law degree from an accredited law school and a member in good standing of the Ontario Bar
* Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial real estate with a law firm or in-house legal department with an emphasis on retail leasing, development and real estate acquisitions.
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
* Comfort working in a team environment

Key Responsibilities:

* Assists in all aspects of legal development transactions, including the preparation, negotiation and execution of leases and agreements of purchase and sale and review of title.
* Advises on legal and business issues/strategies in various areas including Real Estate and Property Management.
* Negotiates and drafts real estate documents.
* Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
* Liaises with lawyers, outside counsel, government and municipal officials and internal departments.
* Special projects as assigned.
