The Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is one of 14 LHINs that have been established in Ontario by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC). As a not-for-profit, community-based organization, our mandate is to plan, coordinate, integrate and fund health care services at the regional level.

ALC Capacity Analyst
• full-time for three months (January 3, 2012 – March 31, 2012)

Acting upon recommendations recently accepted by the Champlain ED/ALC Steering Committee to make better use of the resources currently available in the Champlain region, the Champlain LHIN seeks to maximize system capacity and increase flow across the continuum of care. The ALC Capacity Analyst will assist the LHIN in developing an implementation plan and sub-acute program admission criteria for the region.

Key Accountabilities:

Under the direction of the Senior Director, Health System Integration, the ALC Capacity Analyst is accountable for:

• proceeding with the recommendations accepted by the Champlain ED/ALC Steering Committee on the Sub-Acute ALC Capacity Plan
• establishing a working group to facilitate conversations and discussions between the various stakeholders
• engage additional stakeholders to obtain input into the Sub-Acute ALC Capacity Action Plan
• reporting on project progress and milestones to the LHIN Senior Management Team and the Champlain ED/ALC Steering Committee

Location: 1900 City Park Drive, Ottawa, Ontario

Requirements:

Education:
• a master’s degree in health administration or in a health-related field or an equivalent mix of education and work experience

Experience and Skills:
• health care experience with an understanding of the impact current ALC levels are having in the Champlain region
• well-developed strategic and system thinking
• the demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize a high volume of data and information
• proven ability to work as a leader and team member in an interdisciplinary environment
• excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with staff and stakeholders at all levels including senior management, health service provider administrators, clinicians and physicians
• advanced facilitation and presentation skills
• excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work independently
• independent judgment and initiative
• proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Visio)

Language:
• fluency in both French and English is an asset
